Renaissance

Just returned from 4 nights on One Happy Island. We stayed at the Renaissance – Beach Tower. The location is great, within walking distance to town. The suites in the Beach Tower need updating. The furnishings are very old, as is the bathroom. Probably from the 1970’s. I’ve seen reports that they are updating the property, but not the two rooms I stayed in. I also saw a room at the Marina Tower. Standard hotel room, rather small, but had been updated. The extra space in the suite at the Beach Tower is nice, would be better is they were nicer. We ate at: El Gaucho – terrific as usual. Madame Jeanette’s – first time there, was amazing. Driftwood – would not go there again, mediocre food and service. French Steakhouse – very good. Weather was beautiful, a bit windy. Happened to be Carnival, and we saw the whole thing from the pool deck at the Marina Tower, very fun. Overall, another great trip to Aruba. | |
